So it’s been a week since JLC has gotten back from the studio. It was a blast getting together with old and new friends, making music, and spending up to 11 hours in the studio. I am very excited about this new set of music, yet letting you know that some of it will come to a bit of a surprise for a few.
This time around I spent more time behind pianos and organs, also laying down multiple guitar tracks on each song. The feeling that JLC will be able to perform as a solo acoustic act is really beginning to dwindle. How ever this is the way things end up going, in the mind of a song writer the world of music has endless possibilities. So many instruments and layers that can change the direction of a song.
I look forward to unveiling this new music to everyone. I’m sure through out the next few months come songs will be debuted at live performances, and some may lie dormant for you to hear for the first time when the album drops. Just know that this as of right now has been a wonderful time spent getting all of these songs ready for you.

Jackson’s Lost Cause
Just got back from my show in Katy, Tx. It was a fun show and I appreciate all who came out and watched. Had a great time running around seeing people in Austin and San Antonia as well as meeting some new friends. I’m tired but I think this experience has gave me a new appreciation for playing live. It was great to hit the road, and make complete fools of ourselves all over Texas. The company you keep sure makes it a great experience no matter how disconcerting things are.
The thing is being a musician is never easy. You pour your blood, sweat, and tears into your passion and sometimes things still fall short. I literally write about the best and worst moments of your life. Run your own PR constantly passing out and selling cd’s and demo’s hoping to catch someones ear. You play gigs that you’re just background noise at. Walk into venues and know nothing about what is about to happen or how the show will go. The best thing that can happen is people show up they enjoy it and buy a cd. Sometimes only a few of these things happen. It feels disconcerting especially when you spend all this time to play for a crowd that isn’t there. The only thing I know to do is push through and hope for better next time.
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who support local music. If it weren’t for you most of us would give up.
See I don’t even know It’s been back in the days of myspace since I’ve even thought about this. I thought that starting to blog again could be could to keep fans updated with Jackson’s Lost Cause, and the more I look at everyone else’s blogs I see more pictures and videos then anything else. I think I’m behind the times of what is going on anymore. Used to when I had a blog I just complained about my love life, in fact I turned more heads and got more responses from it then a harvard drop out that is now much more popular and successful then I could imagine. Of course (coarse?{I’m not good at spelling}) most of those responses were from the ladies they were about and always maid for a really interesting line of comments for everyone else to read. Either way that’s what I do with my songs, complain about girls and friends and even a couple new songs about how i’m out of whiskey.
So After rambling here’s the JLC update.
Been recording demos for the new album which, I for one am excited about. There will be quite a bit more flavors added stylistically, to this new one that I’m sure will surprise most of you. Due to me growing up a little, and listening to more Metal and New Age music, actually mostly due to whiskey’s bitter yet comforting taste.
The band that backed me on the previous album will be joining me, once again, to help bring you a few more stories from the interesting life of Jackson.
Which reminds me if you have to pick up your copy of the screen play ep then get off your ass, and come find me, or email me so I can get you one. Don’t worry it soon will be on iTunes for your downloadable pleasure.
Thanks little guys

Alright so after so long of trying to get the first EP out I finally have hard copies of it. Finances love to get in the way don’t they? Any ways you can usually get it at one of my shows or if you know a few of the places I tend to haunt around here you can track me down and get one.
I’ve already started, and almost finished, writing the first full length album to be recorded this coming January. It will be similar to the EP yet venture in a few other directions which leads me to be love most of you will love half of it and the other or just flip over the whole thing. I’ve been using the acoustic a lot less these days which has really changed the sound for the up coming album. Bringing, what I hope is, more depth and a few times a little bit darker song writing. I’ve also focused on adding my sick piano skills to this new piece of work, which is rough for me considering I haven’t been playing piano for long but I think you’ll still like what I can do with it.
Due to focal points on school and writing this new album I have been performing less these days, not to mention a couple of the venues I’ve played at down here have changed their focus off of original music or some music in general, which leads me down to a few that will book original music yet try to make the bill as little eclectic as they can. There are other performances coming up though so don’t you worry. I’m always trying my best to get music to your ears.
Won’t lie I’m just taking a shot with this tumblr thing I hope you guys enjoy it running PR for myself is quite time consuming and can be an emotional, and mind numbing chore. This only because I’m constantly writing, working on school, adjusting finances, booking shows, working on a game plan, and trying to find time for other things that ease the day to day challenges. More to come don’t you worry I know you all love hearing the crazy thoughts of JLC so there will be more whiskey influenced ridiculousness to come.
Thank you all
Jackson
